Our goal with this campaign is to establish a relief fund that enables ministry stability as staff and families recover from this disaster. Your support will have an immediate and substantial impact on people which in turn sustains the operations of the ministry during our milestone 30th anniversary year!
Stepping up in a time of need
Your gift to the Better Together Fund during this time of uncertainty is a lifeline for families whose unanticipated loss of employment and income is likely to lead them to opt out of Christian education or childcare for their children. LMCM cherishes our partnership with each family, so to lose even a few is heartbreaking. In addition, the Better Together Fund helps families in our LM Community us as they navigate crisis-related effects to their employment situation. We are partnered with Hopelink, a non-profit that specifically exists to provide families with help, and has a comprehensive network for assistance.
Message from the founder: Sue Blakeley
Coronavirus Disease 2019 struck our state without much warning. The crisis escalated swiftly from Nevada’s first positive COVID-19 case on March 5, to the mandatory closure of all schools on March 15, of all non-essential businesses on March 20, then four days later a stern “Stay Home Nevada” message came from Governor Sisolak. From these events Lake Mead Christian Ministries anticipated huge disruptions to most of our community, so we quickly set up the Better Together Initiative to provide aid to those who need it. The Better Together Fund exists to ensure the financial sustainability of LMCM, and will allow us to assist our community with multiple forms of aid including living expenses and resources, tuition assistance, and access to mental health services. The Lake Mead community has always been faithful and generous to our calls to action, and we do not take that for granted. Thank you for your support during this unprecedented time! - Sue Blakeley

The Better Together Initiative is positioned to support those most crisis-impacted amongst the Lake Mead Community with four causes - Benevolence, Tuition Assistance, Wellness Center, and Support LMCM. Lake Mead Christian Ministries is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by the IRS, and gifts are fully tax deductible as allowed by law.
